Welcome to the weekend. You did it! We’ve made it to another Friday. Not sure what is on your weekend agenda, but should you need a little entertainment inspiration…..here’s what I have watched lately

I watched a lot of older stuff, but it was all stuff I have never seen before. Two of the four are based on real events and you all how much I enjoy those…..seriously, you can’t make up some of this real life stuff.

So let’s start with those

The Founder – well this is the story of how the McDonalds franchise got started. And it is a sad story. I had no idea. Who knew all of this happened to produce the best fries and Diet Coke we know today. I don’t want to divulge too much of the story, but this is worth the watch. Michael Keaton is awesome in it. It is a great movie telling such an interesting story. It is not newsy. It is told in a very narrative format. Watch this one for sure!

Now Apple Cider Vinegar it the truish story about a girl who built a whole “influencer empire” by basically making things up and recreating herself. I will say this one has a few hard spots to watch because part of the story line has to do with a faked cancer diagnosis and then the misleading of several actual cancer patients regarding their care. It is a pretty tragic story. I have since watched the 60 Minutes interview of the girl this whole show is based on and it continues to be baffling. Tons of emotions in this one but a very good reminder that the lives portrayed on social media may not be accurate or truthful.

The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry is an interesting little dramedy about an eclectic bookstore owner who is given custody of a random child. It was cute and enjoyable but just different. There were parts that I was not expecting, almost as if more scenes were filmed and then the edited version that made it to the screen left some things out. But not a bad story……a good one to watch while accomplishing some chores around the house.

Lastly, definitely, maybe. Okay, this one was cute. Two parents who are separated share custody of their daughter. On one of the nights the daughter is staying at the dad’s house he begins to tell her the story of meeting her mom. But he tells her about three different women in his life, doesn’t use any of the real names and she has to guess which is actually her mom. It has a very cute and sweet ending. I liked this one a lot.
