We are expecting a rainy weekend around here. In case you are expecting the same, here are some entertainment options to pass the time

Upgraded is a cute little romcom. A young lady gets upgraded to first class on her flight where she meets a handsome and wealthy gentleman who mistakes her for her boss. She goes with the mistakes and pretends to be exactly who she is not. Of course, they end up actually liking each other……and you can guess the rest. Predictable but good all the same.
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart is a series and based on a book. It is weird and slightly dark. This whole family has a language revolving around flowers. So they may leave some daffodils to say – I miss you or some lilacs to say – I wish you well. If you think that is weird, that is actually the normal part of the story. There is so much more including family dysfunction, secrets, abuse, you name it. It was one of those things that I didn’t necessarily feel eager to return to, but also I felt like I needed to see how it ended.
Woman in Gold was based on a real story. A family who flees persecution has some treasured family artwork seized and claimed as the property of Austria. They have to take on the whole country in court to try to get it back. It is a fascinating story with beautiful scenery. I really enjoyed it.
Lastly, Ripley – okay this one is eight episodes. It is all in black and white. Essentially, a rich family sends a young man oversees to try to convince their son to return home. Instead, he infiltrates the son’s whole life and bad things happen as he tries to maintain the charade. This one is a lot. Episode 5 almost took me out. Be prepared. It also has some awesome scenes and for some reason it is really hard to look away from…..except episode 5 that is. I looked away from it a lot.
Stay dry, stay entertained, enjoy your weekend.

Watched Woman in Gold a few years ago and really enjoyed it … fun to hear about obscure historical stories.
Started Ridley, but wasn’t sure … now I’m really not sure lol. May give it another go and close my eyes on episode 5!
Ha! For sure brace yourself on episode 5 but worth the watch. Fascinating the scenery draws you in even in black and white!
“Upgraded” sounds good!
