I hope you enjoyed a great weekend. We had such a beautiful one weather wise. Both Saturday and Sunday were just beautiful and sunny. It was really nice to be able to enjoy. And you’d be surprised how many hours I spent outside this weekend.
We had a Yard Sale…..I know, people either love them or hate them. Me, I love them. I mean they are so much work and we end up making about 75 cents an hour when you factor in all the prep, the actual sale and the clean up. But it is a joy for me when I see all that stuff in my driveway that I know will not cross the threshold back into my house. And I do love a good purging and cleaning out.
I always invite friends to bring their treasures over and we have a combined sale. It is a lot more fun when you are hanging out with your friends and chatting through the morning.
We did a two day deal this time on both Friday and Saturday, so we did double the set up and clean up. But such interesting people come by. We had the professional yard salers who moved quickly, grabbed what they wanted and were off to the next one. We had the lingerers who had nothing to do the rest of the day and just chatted about everything. We had the sweetest young couple with their new infant who were obviously just happy to be out of the house. We oohed and ahhed over the baby and they left with big smiles and a couple of nice finds. We also had a choir teacher who bought shoes for students who can’t afford them. We had foster families buying for the kids in their care. Not everyone is pleasant, but we just don’t haggle with them. If you are not nice, you pay sticker price. I am pretty sure that is a yard sale law.
I am tired and sore and still recovering, but I can see a little more space in this house and that, my friends, is the start of a good week.
Wishing you a great week too!
