Remember the Summer Bucket List? Well I attempted to begin this weekend to check one thing off. I have started to try to learn to crochet. I tried knitting several years ago and I just couldn’t get my groove going with those two needles. Somehow it feels like the one crochet hook should be easier. I should probably mention in the 7th grade when we had to select between band or P.E., I unquestionably chose band…..even though I could not read music or play an instrument. On the first day they gave us a quick demo of all the instruments and we all selected one. I literally chose the French Horn based solely on the fact that it only had three things to press. I mean the clarinet with all of its little holes, the saxophone with all its little levers and the flute looked way too challenging. In reflecting on that, I can’t say my decision approach was the best. We will see how the one crochet hook works out.
Here I am on Sunday morning all set up for my online Zoom crotchet class

I ordered the Tunisian Crochet Handbook by Toni Lipsey. I started following her on Instagram and found this zoom class she was offering.
She is super energetic and a wonderfully patient teacher. Of course, I was not nearly as fast as she or anyone else in the class for that matter, but by the end I had a few rows complete

Notice my very few rows compared to her beautifully executed several rows. 🙂 Oh well, it is a start. She also has several youtube videos so I am just going to keep at it.
What do you want to learn? Go ahead and give it a go. It will be fun.
Hope you have the best week ahead! See you back on Wednesday!

Rhega, this is on my bucket list! Every winter, I have the strong urge to knit a blanket. A few years ago, I ordered a “kit” to teach myself… And every once in a while, I still look at all my pretty yarn. 🙂 This winter (after the desire to knit a blanket hit me again) I found a really cute yarn store that offers lessons… I think this blog will motivate me to go back! 🙂
This is our year!
