Redo – the new Guestroom ;)

Well we made it to Friday. Long week for me, hope yours went well. We have a wedding this weekend and the rain is currently rolling in. Cross your fingers for this couple for a break in the rain for their big day.

Now to today’s topic – our new guestroom. I am only saying that because one my little birdies did not find humor in my “Empty Nest” post on Monday. So the fact that I am now calling “her” room the guestroom will just be a little extra salt in the wound……with love of course 🙂

Seriously her old room

Her walls were painted this bright green, the ceiling was sky blue and she had all this pink and white bedding. I am guessing the husband was quite tired of all this decor and sleeping in the pink and white.

So we redid the whole thing

We repainted the room in a nice neutral. Painted the ceilings white and replaced all the bedding and curtains and even the mattress!

Now the room still has some florals but they are blue based. I always think that is a good way to incorporate both a male and female in a room – using a girlie pattern but in a boyish color.

It is now cozy and fresh and I love it. The lamps, pillows and all bedding are from Homegoods. The little side tables are from Amazon.

I also completely redid the bathroom with new paint, new shower curtain and even new cabinet knobs. But my most fun add to bathroom was this little tray of essentials

I got the basket and the little containers at Homegoods. The disposable face towels are from Costco and are a good way to save your towels from makeup. It is these little details that make it feel like you were thought of and welcomed in.

Of course it is always going to be her room. I hope they come often, stay long and enjoy every minute of it.
