Easter preparations are well underway around here. This is truly one of my favorite days. For us, it is a little more settled of a holiday. Not as much decor, not as many gifts to buy, not as many events piling on top of each other as the day approaches. And it really should be that way shouldn’t it.
We will have Church as a family, a light brunch and a pretty big meal to end the day.
The other thing is it feels much more like a personal day. All through Lent I have been spending 30 minutes of focused worship time. I love praise and worship music and listen to it frequently, but it is usually while I am doing other things like driving, chores or cooking. But this was just sitting and focusing on worship. It has really been glorious. Depending on who was home and what time of day I could carve out my 30 minutes, I sometimes ended up in my closet or in the bedroom with headphones. And usually by the end of the 30 minutes, I was trying to squeeze in just one more song.
I am excited this year to try my new vanilla that has been in works this last month. I will be making my five flavor pound cake with it. I am also going to try to make cake pops from grocery store iced cookies. This has been all over social media, but here is the link to the recipe I am going to use. The other thing that I am hoping to get myself together enough to make a few boards from my board book.

Mostly, I just plan to love on my people and honor the Work of the Cross and the miracle of the Resurrection.
See you back on Friday!
