What a week it has been. I don’t know ….lots of emotion this week. My heart is breaking for some sweet people in my life…..lots of loss, uncertainty, concern and things that just make me go…..wow, what is going on. And periodically I just have to take a news hiatus. There are times when it’s just too much…..or too much at one time, I just need a break. I am currently not tuning in to the morning or evening news.
So all of that going on and then I get with a group of ladies who also have a lot going and we praise God together. We talk through His Word. We recall His character and how He always comes through. We share how we’ve trusted Him and He has been trustworthy. We shared a beautiful hymn – How Great Thou Art. We prayed together.
And with everything going on, I am able to keep moving forward. To keep hoping. To keep believing. To keep remembering the victory is already won.
When things get heavy we often want to curl up alone, to avoid people, to avoid having to chat and smile and be sociable. But let me encourage you today, if that is where you are, take the other approach and find someone who knows God and has a praise.
When I was in college there were days I wanted to quit. It was hard. It was really hard. I was blessed to have a roommate also studying Engineering and she would encourage me and say ‘we can do this’. Then on the weeks that she was worn out and wanting to quit, I would encourage her. Thankfully, we never got low at the same time or maybe we did, but we cared enough about the other to be positive for them.
Don’t buy in to the medicating through isolation. Find you someone who has a praise in them and on your way to them, sing your own hymn or play some praise music.
Wishing you a weekend where hopefully you can share a praise with someone who needs it or receive it if you are in need.
Blessings!
