Bringing Friday in with some possible entertainment for your upcoming weekend. The streaming scene has been a bit challenging. I cannot tell you how many shows I have started and quit withing the first 10 minutes. I mean good grief to some of the content out there. But I did make it through these and I even liked them 🙂 Here’s what I have watched lately

First, The Guardian…..wowser bedowser…..apparently this is not based on a true story but it is based on the whole system of the state having guardianship over elderly people. It is shockingly brutal to think that this kind of thing happens. And the fact that it could happen to anyone is just insane. Melissa Joan Hart is really great in this. Essentially her dad who she cares for is taken into the state’s “custody” and what a living nightmare. It was a great story.
Now Respect is where Jennifer Hudson is playing Aretha Franklin. A lot. A whole lot happens in Aretha’s life and I was worn out watching it all. There are things I knew but a lot I learned. But of course Ms. Hudson does a wonderful job with playing Aretha.
The Color Book is beautiful. It is all in black and white. And actually it has minimal dialog. The emotions of the characters latch on to your own emotions and it is a ride. Absolutely do not miss this one. I absolutely loved it. This dad is navigating caring for his son – not always perfectly, but always lovingly.
Lastly, Gaslit by my Husband- The Morgan Metzer Story is a ride through insanity. This is based on a true story and it just goes to show how you never know what is going on behind closed doors.
If you are watching anything good, please share. Wishing you a wonderfully entertaining weekend!
