Television takes an interesting turn during the summer months. Some of our favorite shows are on break and the networks fill in with some odd choices. Apparently, we are in a game show fad. I feel like everyone is hosting a game show except me. As much as I love Kelly Ripa, I am not enjoying her new show (Generation Gap). We do enjoy Celebrity Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. Bless celebrities, they obviously don’t do regular stuff enough to get some of these clues and questions. But at least they are playing for charities.
The other night I was flipping through the channels and MMA fighting was on at 7:00 on regular network TV. I couldn’t believe it. The guide said someone vs. someone and I thought it might be a cooking challenge show. NOPE! It was two people kneeing each other in the face. This is why I record random shows so I have something to watch when the networks fail me.
Here are a few summer shows we are enjoying
Big Brother comes on 3 times a week and we always joke that it is our summer part time job. It does take commitment. This is an interesting season in that it may be the most bad players all brought together. This group of house guests are behaving as if they have never seen the show. But we are invested now, so sticking with it.
We are enjoying Big Bad Budget Battle. Ree is sweet and kind. It is just regular home cooks doing their thing. It is fun and a great summer filler.
Secret Celebrity Renovation is also a fun summer filler show. You really get to learn a lot about the celebrity, their background and their heart. It is always sweet. Plus any show with a before and after is right up my alley.
We are also watching Murders in the Building Season 3. It continues to be good. I will say, however, the language gets progressively worse with each season. That is disappointing, but the story line is enjoyable.
