I haven’t updated you all in a while on our kitchen remodel. So I thought I would today.

And let me just say I believe this tile was from the end of times collection. It was put down to stay. Many a hands worked to get this tile out and we finally hired someone who, quite frankly, could have named any price to finish the job. So we no longer have the wood to tile transition. You may have noticed the new wood has to be stained. Well of course it does. So now we have to completely empty our first floor so they can sand all of the wood and then go back and stain it all to match.
So that is where we are. The good news is the cabinets are built, the counter tops are ready to be cut, the appliances are in town. I just need to pick a paint color.
By the way, if you ever think about renovating a house while you are living in it, come talk to me. We can have a Diet Coke and discuss why this is not clear thinking. Our poor cabinet guy said he would go ahead and paint our bathroom cabinets when he painted the kitchen cabinets. We were so naive and ambitious we signed up to remodel the bathrooms and ordered new cabinets for there as well. I don’t know what is going to happen. We will without any hesitation pay him for his work. We ordered them, we will pay no problem. Now, will we actually remodel the bathroom ……..well it also has the end of times tile, so it’s not looking good. We may get there eventually, but I am going to need a minute, or two, or seven years.
