Welcome to Friday, friends. I hope you had a great week and I hope it feels like fall wherever you are. Finally the temps are consistently lower and I am celebrating.
The question I get more than any other in this phase of life is What are you doing in Retirement….so I took a few snapshots for you.
First, I am thriving. I can remember being 15 years old working the closing shift at Captain Ds and thinking about retirement. I have been training my whole life for this and I am pretty good at it.
I am doing all the normal things that I think most folks do. I have organized closets, cleaned out drawers, basically tried to put stuff in order. Now that I am around my house more hours than ever I have noticed some improvements that could be made and so some things have been shifted to different places and working better for us all.
As you know I do get out and do a little retailing

I may or may not go to Costco multiple times per week.
And now that stores are putting out Christmas

I am popping in often to see the new daily stock
Homegoods, TJ Maxx, Hobby Lobby are often on the menu, but I am also hitting my favorite local spots and boutiques.
The end of the day can often look like

I am picking up a few things for me but also doing shopping for others. I enjoy shopping for folks who don’t enjoy the sport of shopping. As an olympic shopping athlete, I am happy to step in.
Plus it helps me

get in my steps for the day…..see, athlete activity going on over here.
In addition, I have also added Line dancing

which has turned out to be more laughing than actual dancing, but it is all good.
Since I am working so hard I usually have my treat

You are looking at the first Diet Coke paid for by me since February. Because all my peeps know how much I love my one DC a day, I got so many gift cards for retirement, birthday, etc. I just ran out this week. That was a wonderful run.
Of course, I am also enjoying more time with my Bible Study and quiet time

We did porch pumpkins this year and that was the most fun, but quite a bit of work!

Of course I am still reading a ton, doing a little writing, sewing in my new sewing room and cooking most every day like usual.
Every now and then I also do my favorite hobby

and spend a day On the Couch Under a Throw.
Have a wonderful weekend. No post on Monday.
See you back on Wednesday.
