I feel like I have more favorite things than the average person. I like a lot of different things, activities, places, etc. My kids always say I am hard to shop for. I just can’t understand it. I literally like almost everything…..almost.
Here are some of my favorite things. These are things that if I see them, I just about can’t resist. These are things that I sometimes buy in multiples because I forget how many I already have. In fact, since we have been remodeling and I have had to touch almost every possession of mine, I have discovered just how many I own.
Here we go:
- Fabric – this has always been a weakness of mine. My mom used to drive me by the fabric store on the way home from school. When I know I am going somewhere that has fabric, I give myself a good talking to and try to have some self-control. I have so much fabric in this house…..from fabric on bolts, to tiny scraps. It is one of the hardest things for me to part with.
- Baskets – I have found so many baskets. Oh my gosh, they are everywhere. I organize closets with them. I have small ones in drawers. I have my dryer sheets in a basket. I have my cleaning rags in a basket. Did y’all hear me? – I bought a basket to put old t-shirts and worn our dish towels in. I also found a basket of baskets…..I don’t know what’s going on over here.
- Tote Bags – Yep, I also have a tote bag full of other tote bags – all shapes and sizes. Some are ones that we pick up free from events but most are ones I purchased. I really can’t resist a good tote bag.
- Pens – I do not even want to tell you how many pens we have. Look, if writing utensils ever become currency, I am filthy rich…..like I just one the Power Ball rich. And yet and still I may buy another pack if they are on sale. Help us.
- Candles – This must stop. I am putting myself on candle restriction. Well after this weekend I will be on candle restriction. There is one I am picking up this weekend. But after that I am going to have to pause. I have a whole cabinet of candles. I can’t get another one in there. But gosh, I sure do love a good candle.
Okay, well if indeed I can use my pens to buy something- I am going to buy us all an island, give you each a tote bag to pack in and welcome you to the island with a basket of fabric and a lovely candle in each of your rooms.
And that is how we make lemonade out of lemons…..hmmm I do love lemonade too!
Have a great weekend!
