I might be the biggest list maker in the world. I love a list. I love systematically thinking through things and deciphering the best approach. I love ticking off the list what I have accomplished. I, of course, love the sticky notes and magnetic pads and planner pages and even the notes app on my phone.
I make grocery lists, blog idea lists, gift lists, list of books I want to read, list of books I have read. I think I have told you all before but I have a list of all the books I have read since I was maybe 16/17 years old. It is by far one of my favorite lists and I just keep adding to it.
I have a little note pad on my bedside table on which I am constantly jotting down things……what errands I need to run on the weekend, things we need from the store, conversations I need to have, emails I need to respond to, etc. In fact, if I promise you I am going to do something for you, please make sure I write it on my list :).
I was talking to someone today, a person I don’t know at all personally, and she asked me about hobbies, She posed the question of what type of things do you enjoy doing when you have spare time or what would you do if you had spare time. Thirty minutes later, she was probably sorry she even asked. As I was speaking to her I started making a list and I probably ended up with ten different things. You know what a good list generates?……a need to make a more definitive list. So now I am making a more refined list for each one of those things answering questions like
- what would I need to actually do these things
- what research can I be doing now to get set up for success
- how could I use the things I enjoy doing for the benefit of others
- how could I monetize any of them
- what is the priority order of these things ( it is a long list, I am going to have to pick and choose because I can’t do them all)
Anyway, it was such a fun thing to think about. We can get so busy that we don’t even take time to think about all the things we just might want to do one day. So encouraging you today to start a list. Answer the question – what would you do in your spare time, if you had spare time and see if it gets you energized!
Hey and then maybe we can do actually do one of our items and tick it off our list.
What is at the top of your list?

That is so interesting that you have your list of books you’ve read from when you were 16/17 years old. That’s impressive.📖📚
yes! I have always been a list maker 🙂
