Sharing a few things that are currently standing out around here
What am I looking forward to?
It is almost time for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. We are making travel plans and trying to not shop between now and then. We will get to see our favorite friend and stylist – Buffy, try on lots of stuff and fill the trunk with a zillion bags. I go with a group of my girls and the day is as much about hanging out together as it is shopping. I love that this has become a tradition.
What am I watching and reading?
I am re-reading Charles Martin’s What if It’s True. This book stopped me in my tracks a few years ago and it is doing it again. It is deep and thought provoking. I learn more about Jesus and myself. I am enjoying going through it again.
I am watching Zoe Bakes on Magnolia Network. Not only is she baking some deliciousness, she is seriously the most calming baker in the world. I just love her cadence and her descriptions and her soothing voice. I could watch her bake all day…..well actually I have.
What am I wearing?
If you have seen me anytime in the past few weeks you have probably seen me in my new sneaker sandals. I have no idea if that is a category of shoes or not, but it’s what I call them. You know when you want to wear sandals but you need them to feel like sneakers. I got these SOREL kinetic sandals. They are supportive and comfortable and I have been getting lots of compliments.
What am I snacking on?
Well I am still addicted to my Trader Joe’s honey roasted peanuts but I am also enjoying fruit right now. I have been buying all the berries and mango. I am keeping blueberries at the ready for my hungriest time of the day. Does anyone else get super hungry while they are cooking dinner? I am usually starving by then. So I have a little colander of blueberries that I pull out of the fridge to snack on while I am cooking. They have been delicious.
What I am hyper-focused on?
Prayer. Praying mightily for the our friend. She is the sweetest young lady who is facing quite the health challenge. A very unexpected diagnosis…..but only to us. God knew. And we are at His feet on her behalf praying for His hand in every aspect of her treatment. I’d love for you to join in and ask God to heal her body in a miraculous way.
That’s what’s up around here. What’s up with you?
