I hope you had a great weekend. It was quiet around here. I got a little shopping done and did a little sewing. I heard JoAnnes Fabrics had declared bankruptcy…..well allow me to help. I found some good stuff in the store and can’t wait to get more time to pull out my machine. Hang in there JoAnnes!
Today, in our series of How I we will be looking at managing clutter

Now when I share these it is not because I am an expert….far from it. I just believe in sharing what works for me in case it could help you, but I would also love to hear how you do all these things. We can all learn from each other.
Now clutter is not my thing. I am not always tidy and neat but I do not do well with lots of stuff. I am the one that goes through the mail routinely, dumping the junk mail and distributing to household members anything they need to take care of. We have one place that all the mail goes so while dinner is going, I will work through the pile.
Now when it comes to clothing and shoes and all the things that fill up a closet, I am constantly purging. You know how you put your hands on something you haven’t worn in a while and wear it and then remember why you don’t wear it often. Well don’t go home and put it back in the closet. I keep a nice shopping tote in my closet that anything that doesn’t fit correctly or is not flattering or makes me ashamed when I pass by a mirror at work, gets washed and put into the donation bag. When the bag is full off it goes. I donate mainly to two different places. Christian Women’s Job Corp will take anything that a person could wear to work, so they get all the nicer more professional stuff and the rest goes to a local thrift store.
I also try really hard to carefully consider purchases. I will admit in my past if I found something that was on a good sale, I would buy them all whether I needed them or not. Now I try to have a little more restraint. If I can’t think of where it will go, it should not come home.
We are also big recyclers so I keep all the packaging and such heading straight to the recycle bin. We actually manage to fill up two of the big blue bins every month. I miss the recycle center that used to be open to just drive in and drop off stuff. I know a lot of people use the bins at Target to drop off items. Those are convenient too. My product this month that I will feature in the I Tried This series will be related to recycling so stay tuned for that.
What types of strategies work for you to manage clutter?
Oh, and on a completely different topic I hope the clouds part wherever you are today long enough for you to see the Eclipse.
Have a great Monday and a wonderful week.

The eclipse was fun!🤩🌒
It was…thankful the clouds parted enough for us to see it.
