We made it to another Friday ! Don’t you just love when someone says what are you doing this weekend and you can say NOTHING! Yes, please and thank you.
If you have one of those weekends ahead here’s an update on what I have been watching lately…..some you may want to enjoy….some you may want to avoid
Hustle – I LOVED this movie. It was so good. I almost didn’t watch it because of the rating, but after I watched it, I didn’t understand the rating. There’s a little smack talk in the ballgames but there are definitely worse shows that come on television at 7:00 pm. The only thing weird about the movie was that Adam Sandler is married to Queen Latifah…..huh? that felt odd. But they actually made it work. This one is a must see.
The Lincoln Lawyer – I really enjoyed this one too. It is a series so it can last a little while. It is clean, fun and entertaining. A little ….very little……violence, but nothing graphic and overdone. I was so happy to happen upon this one. I actually watched this one with my husband. It is super rare that we enjoy the same shows. For example, as I am typing this he is currently watching The King’s Man and there is a sword fight and a guy in a monacle…..see, told you.
Candy Jar – This is a cute movie. Two classmates who have competed with each other for years actually begin to work together….and maybe a little more. It was enjoyable and a good show to have on while dusting or doing laundry….you don’t have to sit and watch this one. Not intense at all.
Ben is Back – I am here for most any Julia Roberts’ movie. That is what drew me to this one. It was good but a tough watch. Ben is an addict. Ben comes home for the holiday. Things don’t go great. Again, I want to stress this is a tough watch. There’s some in your face addiction scenes in this one. Did I mention it is a tough watch…..because it totally is.
Along for the Ride – Another coming of age movie. A young girl finishes high school and is discovering herself. I ALWAYS feel Hollywood portrays high schoolers like adults. But it is a good story and not too overdone. I was glad I watched it.
The Staircase – Ok, I am going to save several hours of your life here. Pass on this one. It is a documentary about a writer who is suspected of murdering his wife. The subtitle of this series is “Did he do it”. I am going with a yes. But it was not worth it. By the 3rd episode I just wanted him convicted for the 3 hours I had spent watching this. But I had to see it through…..and then I was even more upset that I finished it.
Whatever your plans are, stay hydrated, safe and be nice. Those things will make a great weekend for sure.
