I have been following this place on Instagram for almost a year. I met one of the owners at a college open house and she told me she was working toward opening in Huntsville. I finally saw where they were officially open and we tried them out
It is called Biscuit Belly and as you can imagine from the name they specialize in biscuits…..like way over the top biscuits. The table next to us had a fried chicken breast with spicy pimento cheese on a biscuit. They had some rather tame stuff too like traditional biscuit and gravy. Here’s what we ordered….
We got the Belly Board which was eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and a biscuit. We substituted the bacon for the sausage. It also came with this berry jam which was spectacular. We also got the short stack of pancakes which came with bacon and fruit. It is always a little risky not getting what the restaurant is named for…..but it was worth the risk. The pancakes where quite tasty. But literally the biggest short stack I have ever seen. Between the two of us we couldn’t finish them all. But we gave it a really good try.
They had some interesting french toast biscuits and also one dish that had brie, nuts and honey over the biscuits. You know we’ll be going back when I already know what I want order next time.
It is set up where you order at the counter, they give you a number and then they find you and bring your food out. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Always fun to have a new place to try. And always nice when it turns out to be good.
