It is Book Review day!!!!!! Yippee and Yay! Before we get into my latest reads I want to remind you about a new local bookstore opening this weekend! Snail on the Wall started as an online store. I ordered books from them and they’d drive them over and leave them on my porch. They are also the folks who bring all these wonderful authors to town for author discussions and book signings. They are just the nicest, bookiest people. I can’t wait for their actual brick and mortar storefront to open this weekend

Now for my latest reads

Let’s start with my favorite for the month – Mercury by Amy Jo Burns.
the story centers around a family who run a roofing business. Everyone has their role and they don’t know how to do anything but live out their roles….. until a new girl comes to town. There’s love, a little mystery, all with a heavy dose of dysfunction. I enjoyed this one from page one. I was totally invested in their roofing company and each of them. I really enjoyed this one.

Help Wanted by Adelle Walkman. Now this one was interesting. Interesting but I didn’t love it. It takes place in a town that has little to nothing. But they have this store that survives, but barely. All the characters work in this store as the crew that unloads the truck. You can imagine all the shenanigans that go on. I enjoyed it but didn’t love it!

Next was Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn. Now this is sort of predictable. Girl loses job, moves back home, runs into a boy from high school. You can see where this is going…..but there’s a little more than you might think. She finds an old notebook detailing things she wrote in high school. Her and her friend decide to live out some of the bucket list items she had recorded in the notebook. There’s adventure and mis-adventure but turns out to be a very sweet story.

Lastly, For the Love of Friends by Sara Goodman Confino. This is a cute story about a girl who finds herself in 5 weddings- two friends, two siblings and one work friend. They all have different expectations of her, varying budgets and so many demands. She makes numerous questionable decisions and finds navigating all of the weddings near impossible. This is a nice light read and I really enjoyed it,
