Happy Friday! And it is my birthday weekend. Why are weekend birthdays better? I mean my plans aren’t magnified or changed or anything but for some reason it feels more exciting to have a weekend birthday.
I mean after the Nordstrom Rack announcement this week, I kind of felt like that was a great birthday gift for me. Oh and I put it in the comments but in case you missed it, I also found out we are getting four new HomeGoods in the area….Athens, Florence, Meridianville and Albertville (I think…not positive on that last one). My friend… who probably doesn’t know we are friends….he probably just calls me a customer was giving me the lowdown as we were chatting about Nordstrom Rack joining the shopping center. Regardless, it is all good news.
But back to this birthday weekend – are you reflective on your birthday? I was thinking back on this year. A lot happened. We had another engagement and started planning a wedding. I spent my first full year in retirement mode. We bought a car. I started sewing like crazy again. My family was blessed with my brother’s medical miracle. Friends finished chemo and are doing well. We walked through some hard losses. I am going to the gym. God was with us. God was good. God was great! Yep, that pretty much sums up the year.
Mostly, I am just thankful. So very thankful.
So if you have been around here a bit, you already know that one of my favorite things is gift giving. I certainly prefer it to gift receiving. So I am celebrating by making donations to some of favorite charities:

- Christian Job Corps
- Huntsville Learning Center
