Well happy Monday. The snow here was perfect. It was beautiful. It didn’t turn to ice. And most importantly, it was gone in about a day and half. And now there are people all around the state forcing their families to eat egg sandwiches and drink milk….but so be it!
We enjoyed being tucked in together doing just random stuff that needed to be done. A whole quilt was made by my daughter, closets were cleaned, miscellaneous drawers were organized and make-up products that expired in 2021 were disposed of. Truly a successful weekend. I do need Netflix to give me a little more in options. I feel like I have watched all of Netflix and it is sad. I actually watched an entire hour of a Bull riding competition where the Nashville Stampede beat the Carolina Cowboys 251 to 0. I have no idea how points are accrued. So the 251 is a mystery to me. I did figure out the zero came from none of the Carolina Cowboys being able to make it past eight seconds. The most interesting part of the competition was the names of the bulls. There was a Sneaky Situation, Black Pearl, Bucking Bill, Full Gangster and Peanut. If I am the rider, I really have my fingers crossed that I get to ride Peanut. I am not sure who is in charge of naming these bulls, but well done.
So while nothing much was going on I had an observation and that is what I share with you today. As my kids were growing up I gave them lots of speeches. Lots and lots of speeches. I just didn’t know a moment that couldn’t be teaching. I think I was a good speaker. I was passionate, repetitive, loud and unrelenting. You know…..like Olympic level speeches. Did they land with them? I don’t know. I am sure they had some impact, but honestly were probably not as impactful as I would have hoped. But I did other things when I wasn’t giving speeches…..I read constantly, I cooked a meal every day, I baked, I sewed and crafted and created things. You know who was not interested in any of those things, my kids. You know who does all of those things now, my kids.
So I was thinking maybe we should all be encouraged to keep modeling what we want them to do. Whether we are still in the kid mode or on to the grandkid mode we all just need to keep doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable and that matter. They are watching even though it doesn’t feel like it all of the time.
But occasionally, they are due for a good speech too!
Have a wonderful Monday!

Thanks for the encouragement.
P.S. I’d ride Sneaky Situation!
Ahhhh…Sneaky Situation, an admirable choice 🙂
Love this!! Thank you!
