Weekend Ready

I feel like we have been moving and motoring like crazy. Doesn’t it seem like there’s either a zillion things going on or it is library quiet. Life seems to come in waves. Fortunately, it has all been good busy so definitely not complaining. This weekend will be more of the good busy. We have a birthday to celebrate and then Father’s Day. I had my first baby on Father’s Day. Handing someone a beautiful baby girl for Father’s Day makes grilling accessories pale in comparison……but grilling accessories it is!

My daughter has asked for “Aunt Teen’s Cake” and I will be once again attempting it. My Aunt Teen made all of our birthday cakes growing up and then made cakes for our kids once we had them. We had a couple of cake drought years when she retired from cake baking. But a few years ago I was gifted the recipe and have been trying to live up to the legacy ever since. I get closer with every attempt…..another decade or two and I should have it perfected.

The weekend is supposed to be nice weather and I hope to hit a few yard sales and a couple of furniture stores. I hope you have some nice plans, indulge in some good rest and whatever else will bring you joy. Speaking of joy……it is a great weekend to enjoy that treat we talked about on Monday!
