Summer is On

Okay, last night was the kickoff of summer at my house and the beginning of my part time job. Big Brother has begun!

We love the show and have watched every season except maybe two, when the houseguests were nutty and everyone paired up in couples and it really was not family friendly…..if you know what I mean. It comes on like three times a week so that is why I consider it my summer part time gig.

I am on the couch clocking in for every episode. It is just the kind of work ethic I have.

It really is the most interesting social experiment. EVERY season the girls say “let’s make a girl alliance and get all the guys out”. Every year they crumble immediately. For whatever reason the girls just can’t stick together. I have always found it interesting about guys. They don’t have to like each other. They don’t have to be friends, but they stick together like crazy. Come on ,girls, do better!

There are all kinds of other dynamics that play out: Popular kids vs. nerdy kids, athletes vs. the not so fits, sometimes the age groups get together, sometimes the married vs. singles comes into play, other times it is regional. I mean it really is very interesting.

Remember how stir crazy we all got when we couldn’t leave the house during COVID? Well these folks are locked in this house with zero outside contact for nearly 100 days. I mean that’s a long time. That’s a lot of togetherness and when things go wrong….well they go wrong.

When I am clocked out from Big Brother, I will be opening Nordstrom packages. I am not sure who is working in the shipping department, but they are on it. We placed orders on Tuesday and I got 8 boxes yesterday…..EIGHT…..I mean that is better than Amazon prime these days.
