Hello! Hope you all enjoyed a good weekend. I honestly I had a good one. It was a busy one and I got a lot done. I also got to see several people I haven’t seen in a while which was nice. But when I sat down to write this post I started writing about some things that are getting on my nerves. One thing about me is when I am having a good day/week and something non-sensical spoils it, I can get so focused on that one negative that I miss all the positives. So I have been working on redirecting myself and decided to redirect on this blog post. Instead, I will share some of the things big or small that are bringing joy

If the day presents some blank space and I just have some wandering time, I am heading to HomeGoods. Literally, there is new stuff everyday and I quite frankly just enjoy the browse. I can go up and down every aisle every day with complete joy. Of course I have some other favorites too Bookstore – Snail on the Wall; Boutiques – Sweet Pineapple, Golden Griffin, Dottie Jewels; Big Retail – Target and Costco.
The people who bring me joy through the day are people who give compliments. I mean I just think it is nice when people say…cute dress….nice shoes….lovely outfit….great handbag…love your hair. I often think these things about people I see, but most of the time I only say something if they make eye contact with me anyway. One day last week I wore a dress my friend Kim gave me for my birthday. Seriously, at least 10 people complimented me through the day. I did call Kim and tell her what a great selection she had made. Give some compliments people….it is fun!
Oddly enough I love 9:00pm. Most nights my television shows are done, the kitchen is fairly put back together, and it is time to wind down for the day…..I look forward to it!
A good sewing day does my heart good. I have so many fun projects going right now. I can’t wait to show them to you all later. Give me all the fabric…..love, love, love!
I really want to put in some wall to wall bookshelves one day. I just love books and it may be one of the most positive things on social media right now. People reading and sharing and being excited about reading….yes, please and thank you. The Book Crawl this past weekend drew crowds like I could not believe. I was busy all morning helping a friend and didn’t get to Snail on the Wall until around 2:00pm. I was shocked at all the folks still out buying and browsing BOOKS! The world needs readers and it just made me so happy.
The next two are food items. PopCorners because they satisfy my chip need without all the calories and then the Chick-Fil-A peach shake is back with satisfies every other part of me.
Lastly, I am really enjoying water aerobics. As kids we used to swim just about every day of the summer….for hours. It feels good to be back in the pool splashing around again. The extra benefit….we get to call it exercise.
Well I feel better now focusing on all the positives. Maybe you can shift your brain and focus on the little things that make you happy.
Oh….and please send me those summer book list.
The original blog post is here. I have been putting together our prize and it is going to be fun! If you can’t print the form, just send me your books and I will put them on the form for you. We are capturing all books from May 15 – August 31.
Have a Positively lovely week!
