This is me preaching to me this morning because I am on the hour loss struggle bus. Say what you want – I don’t have the capacity for lost hours. So very appropriate to focus on

This month let’s do Throwback Joy. Spend some time thinking about what brought you joy in the past that you just don’t engage in anymore. There are a lot of reasons we morph our activities but maybe we can change some things and find that joy again.
Maybe you just don’t feel like you have time anymore.
- Or maybe you do. What are you doing that you don’t enjoy. One of the best books I have read is The Best Yes and it is all about carefully saying no to the wrong things so you have space to say yes to the best things. If you currently dread going to something maybe it is time to revector that time so you can do a joyful activity.
Maybe the friend who used to be your partner in the activity moved away.
- Ahh the joy of Facetime, Zoom, etc. Reach out to that old friend and see if you can virtually get that joy going again…..virtual workouts, chat with each other while walking, read the same book and have a book chat each week…..you get the idea.
Maybe you are out of shape and physically not sure if you can do it anymore.
- personally, I can’t relate to this one because I have never been in good physical shape to do anything, but maybe you used to jog or play tennis or work hours in your yard. Well think of enjoying that in smaller chunks. Maybe you could walk instead of jogging. Maybe instead of tennis you could play pickleball which I think is less running about. Maybe you could start a container garden to have a little something to piddle with.
Maybe it feels juvenile and you think you are “not allowed” anymore.
- Listen we are still allowed to do the juvenile things. My friend, Rita, recently gifted me with an adult coloring book and I am having the best time with it. Coloring before bedtime has become a new favorite wind down activity and sure beats social media scrolling. Be creative and think of how you can still enjoy the childhood favorites.
Alright, let’s Throwback Joy this month!
Let me know if you re-engage in an old favorite activity. Have a wonderful week!

I need to get back to journaling. It’s been awhile since I’ve done it consistently.✍🏾
