We have a ton of games and we play them a lot.
We use practically this whole cabinet to store all of our games. Well I follow @pinchofhelp on Instagram and she had a great organizing tip. She’s very good at organizing. She does it for a living and is based out of Atlanta, GA. I personally enjoy watching people tidy up and making chaos neat, so I really enjoy all of her posts.
She recommended these storage pouches from The Container Store
They are very inexpensive $2-$4. I mostly ordered the larger size and then a few of the two smaller sizes. She suggested you ditch all the boxes and just put the game contents and instructions in these pouches. The larger ones worked well for games that had actual game boards and the other two sizes worked for card games or smaller games.
Honestly, you really don’t need that large box. Games may be the most inefficiently packaged items on the market. There really is a lot of waste.
I bought the storage bin at Target and it now holds all of our games. We just recycled all of the boxes and cleaned out the cabinet.
It is a great space saver. I will say, a few of the pouches had some testy zippers, but with a little finesse they all unzipped and functioned well.
