I love a month when I enjoyed all the books I read. That doesn’t always happen, but what a treat when it does.
Here’s what I enjoyed last month

The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda. A prominent resident of this small beach town dies. Her best friend lives under a cloud of suspicion. Finally, the truth starts to come out and when the web of deception is unraveled the town is shocked by the news. This is not scary, only slightly suspenseful. Definitely a good beach or in my case couch read.
The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop by Fannie Flagg. I went way back for this one. I was in the mood for some very light, clean reading. Remember Fried Green Tomatoes? Well this is the continuation of that story line. The kids who were young in Fried Green Tomatoes are in the retirement home in this book. Enjoyable.
A Low Country Bride by Preslaysa Williams. A young wedding dress designer is called back home to tend to her dad who has had a health scare. She is faced with possibly losing the dream job she has been chasing her whole career. Or perhaps she will gain something she didn’t even know she wanted. Enjoyable read and a clean one too.
My favorite of the month was Under the Southern Sky by Kristy Woodson Harvey. I always enjoy this author and this one did not disappoint. Two childhood friends are brought back to their hometown and into each other’s lives due to some hard life events. A lot of things are going on in this book. I will say there’s some pretty heavy cancer stuff so if you prefer not to read stories around that, you might steer clear of this one. But the story line is very well developed and I definitely latched on to the characters and cheered them along. I do have my fingers crossed for another one that continues this story line.
If you have read anything lately that you loved, please share it in the comments. I know all of us are always looking for more good reads.
Make it a great week.
