I have always loved this time of year. School supply shopping is my jam…..ok, all shopping is my jam. But I do love some nice pencils, pens and planners. I don’t have little ones heading back this year. Both of mine are college bound and do their own supply shopping.
However, I still feel led to pray for those teachers and students heading back. Would you join me?
Here are some things I will be laying before the Lord over the next few weeks…..I think they are appropriate for pre-school to grad school.
Prayers for
The shy child to feel safe and brave.
The nervous child to feel peace.
The energetic child to be able to sit still and calm.
The confident child to encourage another.
The child that feels like they don’t fit in to develop a healthy friend group.
The perfect student and teacher pairings.
Good and healthy friend groups (especially for that child that is on the fence of the straight and narrow or the wild west).
Softened hearts for those that feel the need to pick on other kids and healing for whatever is broken in them to give them that desire.
Provision for children who struggle to have the basics.
Teachers to be well rested.
Teachers to be patient with the students and themselves.
Teachers to feel confident they are making a difference.
Teachers to have discernment to see and know how to reach their students.
Safety for all.
If you are a teacher or have a student heading back, let us know in the comments how else we can pray over the beginning of a new school year.
See you back on Friday.
