We have been doing church virtually for the last couple of years. We decided to go in person this week. We had such a good experience……well except for the fact that we couldn’t figure out why we were smelling tomato soup the whole time. At the end when the lights were turned back up, we discovered the girl in the row in front of us had spilled her container of tomato soup. Now if someone can explain to me why in the world a person brings a container of tomato soup to a 9:30 church service, I would love to know. I am actually getting to the point that absolutely nothing surprises me anymore. But fortunately, the actual service was really good. So good that we decided to jump fully back into our normal Sunday activity and go out to eat afterwards.
After 15 minutes of discussing where we might go, I remembered why we don’t do this anymore. I think right before COVID we had assigned each person a Sunday to select the post church meal. But we’d forgotten about the food debate and all the discussion. Finally, my husband googled and came up with this place downtown……The Standard
You should really click on the link and read about it. It is quite an interesting place

Two of us chose the breakfast sandwich and one of us chose the veggie omelet. We all had potatoes. It is a lot of food……but we pushed through and consumed it all. It is a very cute place. They had some outside dining, there’s a little shop inside where you can buy snacks and foods you might use to entertain. There is also a counter area where you could buy steaks and such to take home and grill.
Glad we found it and will definitely return. There was another cute little restaurant with music next door, La Esquina Cocina. We plan to go back and check it out too.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
