I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! We had a bit of surprise and it was quite nice. I am not much of a surprise person, but I am a terrible receiver. So my kids knew I would decline if asked…..so they didn’t ask. What can I say…..I raised them so it’s no one’s fault but my own. They are just super kind and generous and I am really trying to get better about receiving.
I am not sure who taught them to fib so well though….they must’ve gotten that from their dad…..tee hee hee. They had all kinds of stories about why every one was in town this weekend and why I didn’t need to start dinner and just everything. Finally, late in the afternoon they presented us with these tickets

At first my heart almost dropped. I thought they were plane tickets and then I realized they were just dinner tickets they had made on Canva…..relief. They planned this whole very nice dinner at The Bottle

Where we took advantage of the menu

It is very unusual for everyone to get something different….but we did! We had the Salmon, Lobster Bisque, Ceasear Salads, the Filet, Cajun Chicken pasta, the Short Rib and The Scallops. It was all delicious and the company, the fellowship and the gesture was the best!
When we got home they brought out a cake from Olexa’s

And gifts!

They got me a Louis Vuitton Agenda with calendar inserts and a Mahjong mat (later post coming on that) and my husband got the new Series 10 Apple Watch and a collectible bottle of Bourbon.
We could not have been more surprised. The new husband and the boyfriend were full on board and we were happy as could be to have them there.

I am so proud of these generous, little deceitful children of mine. We felt so loved and so honored that they took the time and pulled off such a wonderful evening and weekend.
We did play Mahjong and tried a new restaurant…..but I will tell y’all about that on Friday.
By the way, I am really good at Retirement….perhaps Olympic level good.

You both deserved and earned it. A gain, congratulations. Not only on the retirement but also on raising two wonderful daughters!!
Thanks, we are definitely blessed by the wonderful kids!
Congratulations on your retirement. It’s well deserved! Did your husband also retire?
Yes! He retired first. Now we are both enjoying the retired life!
