Welcome to Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to a great week ahead. Except for the three guys who read this blog, most of us ladies are gearing up for Mother’s Day this weekend. I think we are all mothering someone so I consider a celebration of women. Since it is the celebration of women this weekend, I thought that would be a good focus for us this week. So how about a giveaway?

These two books showed up as recommendations in my email. I haven’t read either….YET…..but I plan to. I have read a lot about them and I have to tell you they sound awfully interesting.

The first is a collection of reflections by Savannah Guthrie, host of the TODAY show. It is all about God’s love. I think the title, Mostly What God Does is wonderful…..because isn’t it true that no one loves like our God. She looks at six Biblically rooted essentials of faith: love, presence, grace, hope, gratitude, and purpose. It sounds like it would be good, right?

The second is Tired of Being Tired by Jess Connolly. If you read this title and thought I could have written this book, I agree most of us could. But Jess wrote it and explores finding realistic rest in God. Yes, please and thank you.

I plan on ordering these for myself, but while I am at it I will also order the one of your choice for you and let you pick one that I will send to a friend that you identify. You can pick the same one for you both which will allow you to talk about it together as you read or choose one for you and the other for her and perhaps you can switch at the end of reading them. Your choice.
