It’s book day, Whoop whoop!!!!!
Well I have good news and bad news. I really liked two, wanted to like one of them and …… I did not finish one. Literally, you all know how rare that is. I will finish a so-so book, even a blah book. But I just can’t with some. Here’s what I read this month and you can use your context clues to figure out which didn’t get finished

Okay, first my favorite of the month- The Memory Library by Kate Storey. A daughter is called back home after her mom has a serious fall. She thinks it will be a short visit to get her mom back on her feet but she begins to discover so many things. It is a sweet story about family, forgiveness, friendship and community.
Next, A Happier Life by Kristy Woodson Harvey. I normally love a good novel by Ms. Harvey. Three-quarters of this book is good. There’s a fun beach town and lots of sentiment. I don’t want to give anything away, but I had my fingers crossed almost the whole book that the ending I guessed would be wrong. It wasn’t and I was so sad. Truly ruined the whole thing for me. There are just certain things I don’t want to see normalized – so this is a do not recommend for me.
My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout is up next. This is a short but interesting read. Lucy Barton is in the hospital and has some undiagnosed condition keeping her there. She essentially tells her whole life story reminiscing from her hospital bed. This book is like chatting with someone over coffee. It wasn’t life changing but just interesting to read.
Now if your context clues didn’t fail you, it is clear that I did not finish Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. This book is all over social media and suggested reading lists. It is supposed to be about two very different brothers who lost their father. Okay, all of that is mentioned but it is more about the very extremely detailed bedroom adventures of the two boys. I only made it 5 chapters and I had to exit stage left. It was too much. Way, way, way too much. If you are not bothered by such, I think the actual story had promise but I absolutely couldn’t take it anymore.
Well that’s what I’ve been reading. Buckle up , next month I have Holiday books for you!
Have a wonderful weekend!

I had to recently dnf one myself. Hope you get four five star next month.🍃❤️📖
